Eurorack Drive In Racking

Drive-In Rack is a high-density storage solution for heavy loads. By maximizing the floor space for storage and minimizing aisles for forklifts, the system efficiently utilizes 65% of the floor space for storage.

Introduction to Drive-In Racking

Drive-In Rack is one of the most commonly used Heavy-Duty storage rack systems today. With its efficient operation using both Last-In, First-Out (LIFO) and First-In, First-Out (FIFO) methods, it provides additional criteria for decision-making. Understanding the features of Drive-In Rachelps you determine if this is the optimal choice for your warehouse.

Let's explore Drive-In pallet rack with Eurorack

Drive In Racking is a high-density storage solution for heavy loads. By maximizing the floor space for storage and minimizing aisles for forklifts, the system efficiently utilizes 65% of the floor space for storage. To load and unload goods, forklifts move the lifting fork directly into and access within the system.

Connecting solid rows of racks, each level is constructed with rails guiding pallets deep inside the rack. An ideal option for storing homogeneous pallets, strictly adhering to the LIFO and FIFO principles for inbound and outbound processes.

Technical Specifications of Drive-In Racking

  • Load capacity: 500 - 1000 kg/pallet.
  • Rack height can reach up to 12m.
  • Stores 8 pallets deep (or more depending on rack technical standards).
  • The frame is designed in Omega shape with perforated holes directly anchored to the floor.
  • Goods retrieval is done by specialized forklifts.
  • Electrostatically painted iron frame standard in Europe.
  • Fixed Drive-In rack components with bolts for easy upgrades when necessary.

The structural components of the automated warehouse rack system

The Drive-In pallet racking system consists of 8 basic components:

  • Load-bearing column frame: Supports the entire load of goods. It consists of 2 OMEGA uprights with perforated holes.
  • Base foot: Connects the frame to the warehouse floor. The part in contact with the floor is made of 2mm thick concentric steel for added strength.
  • Frame connecting braces: Reinforced horizontally and vertically between the two column frames to evenly distribute the load for the system.
  • Top beam: Has a horizontal configuration to connect with the frames at the top. Its purpose is to create a strong connection between the storage racks throughout the system.
  • Support arm: Supports the pallet load and distributes it to the rack frame.
  • Pallet guide rails: Each rack lane has 2 parallel guide rails. This component guides the pallets and allows them to be placed stably on the rails.
  • Column protectors: Connect the load-bearing column to the floor to keep the system stable.
  • Guardrails: Protect the system from collisions with other equipment.

Outstanding Advantages of Eurorack Shuttle Racking System

Drive-In Rack offers several outstanding advantages for storing goods:

  • Utilizes up to 65% of warehouse space: Maximizes all dimensions of existing warehouse space, including height, width, and depth. This improves storage capacity compared to other rack systems.
  • Energy-saving: By compacting the storage area, warehouses only need one source of energy, lighting, and filtering systems to maintain the quality of goods.
  • Accurate inventory management: With segmented storage lanes, goods with each SKU are stored uniquely in each lane. A Drive-In rack system consists of many lanes, allowing the storage of various types of goods.
  • Common and efficient: Despite its superior storage capacity, the structure and operation are simple, making it a cost-effective investment for businesses.
  • Convenient access to goods: The design allows for goods retrieval from both ends of the rack row. Therefore, it is suitable for warehouses managed using both LIFO and FIFO methods.
  • Diverse combination: With space-saving features, Drive In Rack can be used in combination with other types of Heavy-Duty Racking such as: VNA Racking, Selective Racking, to maximize warehouse storage capacity.
  • Ideal for storing goods in harsh conditions.

Each design option offers perfect application advantages in the storage industry. If you need to install this type of rack, contact Eurorack directly at 0938 520 379 for more detailed consultation and support!

Operation of Drive In Rack

For the loading and unloading of goods pallets in Drive-In Rack, the process is detailed as follows:

Drive-In Rack with one entry point

This involves installing and arranging one end of the rack row close to a wall. In this setup, goods can only be accessed from one direction (meaning LIFO method is used).

Drive-In Rack with two entry points

This setup positions the rack system in the middle of the warehouse space or at a distance from the wall wide enough for forklifts to maneuver. With this setup, your rack system now has an additional access point for goods retrieval. Forklift operators can now load and unload pallets at both ends of the rack row to increase operational efficiency (for this model, you can manage goods flexibly in both LIFO and FIFO methods).

*Note: When loading goods, follow the sequence. Fill the top layer of a lane first, then the lower layers. Continuously do this until the lane is filled with pallets.

Which type of warehouse should use Eurorack Drive In Rack?

Drive-In Rack is the ideal choice for companies operating in manufacturing and commercial fields with heavy loads packed into pallets. They aim to optimize warehouse floor space and upgrade storage capacity. These units can be:

  • Logistics centers in large provinces and cities: Using Drive-In systems helps reduce overhead costs and optimize real estate leasing costs.
  • Cold storage warehouses: Drive-In is the most popular solution for cold storage environments. They not only save energy but also have a lifespan of over 10 years, thanks to the surface coating characteristics of the racks.
  • Additionally, it is used in other industries such as FMCG, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, electronics, etc.
